The front corner lenses on an automobile will usually function in one of two possible purposes. Under some circumstances both applications may be in use. The most common application for front corner lights is to function as front turn signals. These allow other drivers in front of the car to know when a lane change or turn is about to occur. The other application for front corner lights is to offer a wider viewing range on either side of the vehicle for easier turning in the dark. The Honda Civic Si front corner light functions as both a turn single and a wider viewing range. They utilize halogen lights to offer a brighter than normal operation without being blinding to oncoming drivers. The lenses are made out of a clear plastic which resists discoloration and wear.
