A gas pedal is a device which use utilized by the driver of a car to control the throttle body. The term gas pedal comes from the fact that it’s controlled by the foot of the driver. The gas pedal is on the right side of the pedals and is either one of two or three depending on if the vehicle is manual transmission or automatic transmission. The gas pedal works through the use of simple pulley system that opens or closes the throttle body depending on the pressure applied. The more pressure applied to the gas pedal the further open the throttle body is resulting in a greater amount of air and gas making it to the cylinders. The Civic Si gas pedal functions as a standard throttle allowing the driver to easily control the engine speed.
